The words, MADE IN OCCUPIED JAPAN,
are engraved on the bottom of each shaker.
Excellent condition!
Each shaker measures 4 3/8 inches tall
Screw style top, still in tight, working order.
These are beautiful!
After researching these vintage shakers,
I found that many MADE IN OCCUPIED JAPAN
silver pieces did not contain a sterling mark.
The US occupied Japan from:
Sept 2, 1945 to Apr 28, 1952.
Our Customs Bureau started requiring the goods be marked as such in 1949.
That should give you an idea of the age of these vintage shakers!
Being a treasure hunter, most of the items I offer are used,
and come from a variety of sources.
As such, these treasures may have been exposed, at some time,
to smoke, allergens, pets, detergents, and other smells.
Please keep this in mind when placing your bid,
as I rarely have access to the history of an item.
